Dr Martin Scurr
Retiring from the medical practice he founded in 1977 and withdrawing
from clinical work in 2014, Dr. Martin Scurr now works in an advisory and
educational role and has been certified as an Accredited Mediator, trained
in Alternative Dispute Resolution.
Between 1977 and 2014 the dominating commitment was to seeing patients in the practice, but interests during that time included the emotional aspects of nasal function- working for over a decade in The Nose Clinic at the Royal Brompton Hospital, palliative care- as founding Medical
Director of St John’s Hospice, and medical ethics.
A continuing theme has been that longevity and the avoidance of chronic illness is a personal responsibility, with each of us gathering, processing and responding optimally to information- and enabling this through education and enlightenment about the function of our physiology is the
key.
