Dr Martin Scurr “ Added Sugar : nutritional friend - or food pollutant?”

Dr Martin Scurr

Retiring from the medical practice he founded in 1977 and withdrawing
from clinical work in 2014, Dr. Martin Scurr now works in an advisory and
educational role and has been certified as an Accredited Mediator, trained
in Alternative Dispute Resolution.

Between 1977 and 2014 the dominating commitment was to seeing patients in the practice, but interests during that time included the emotional aspects of nasal function- working for over a decade in The Nose Clinic at the Royal Brompton Hospital, palliative care- as founding Medical
Director of St John’s Hospice, and medical ethics.

A continuing theme has been that longevity and the avoidance of chronic illness is a personal responsibility, with each of us gathering, processing and responding optimally to information- and enabling this through education and enlightenment about the function of our physiology is the
key.

Pilates with Charity

Space at the quay is delighted to have London Pilates instructor hosting a class on Sat 16th and Sun 17th at 1030am. £5 per class.

Charity Woodruff

I started practising Pilates in 2012 to boost my 15 years of classically trained dance experience. I continued to learn Pilates and benefited from the increased body awareness and strength it gave me while I coached and choreographed various styles of dance. Last March I began my teacher training in London at Tranquillity Pilates Studio following the Balanced Body school of Pilates teaching learning all the classical sequence and anatomy needed to become a mat Pilates teacher. I have over 8 years of mat Pilates experience, over 4 years of Reformer training and I have 8 years teaching experience of movement, with just under a year specific Pilates. With experience teaching complete beginners to super advanced classes incorporating modifications for injuries and conditions including arthritis, scoliosis, join pain and osteoporosis.
